Little did I know I am growing a hockey FANATIC!

So, today was the USA VS Canada Men's Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Game...and it was being shown live-while I was sleeping during the day for work. So, little Bean decided it was time to let me know that he's going to grow up and be just like his dad and that he wanted to watch hockey. He woke me up at noon (when it started) and I managed to go back to sleep, until 1 when I was awakened again, and decided to get up to use the bathroom. BIG MISTAKE! Because after that I had every intention of going right back to sleep, but Bean had other plans. He would not stop moving and kicking and finally I broke down and turned on the tv. I knew hockey was on, and figured I might as well watch it.

As soon as I turned it on (a little louder than normal since my ears are all clogged from allergies and blowing my nose) we scored our first goal, and bean starts kicking like CRAZY. He then settled down a little bit, and a minute or two before the end of the 3rd period he starts going mad again....and we scored in the last 24 seconds to tie it up. Bean went CRAZY! I have never seen my stomach move like that before. It was the weirdest thing. How does this kid know what is going on with hockey. I will admit when they scored I was excited and cheered a little bit, but he was already moving around a lot before that. Then, he finally calms down before OT started. I texted F to tell him what his son has been up to (which of course he thinks is AWESOME), and as soon as the OT starts, Bean starts kicking up a storm again. How does he know what is going on (aside from hearing the announcers getting amped up). However, when Sidney Crosby scored the winning goal for Canada, Bean didn't move at all. No kick, no punch, NADA! Does he seriously know who was winning? And how does he know what's coming up? It was SOOOOOOO weird. But very cool at the same time.

Even if Sidney Crosby is a Penguin (which I'm sure he will be a fan of just like his dad), he knew when it came down to who he wanted to win, it was Team USA. It is a little odd that he knew what time to wake me up and went crazy at exactly the right times during the game...I am doomed, I am destined to live a life with not just one, but TWO hockey fanatics. Good thing we have this book:
Time to start reading it now! Especially since Bean already seems to know more than his mom about hockey! He's definitely already taking after his dad! As far as first games go....at least first games to have him have a reaction to...It doesn't get much better than the Olympic Gold Medal game between USA and Canada and to have it be as close and good of a game as it was...AWESOME (if not more than a little strange)!
